A couple of days ago, I played the tutorial section of Dauntless, a sort of MMO/Monster Hunter thing where you go around The Shattered Isles™ and kill Behemoths™ because you're a Slayer™ (not the Buffy kind… I think).

It's fine; the tutorial monster is a bit of a sponge, and it ticks all the Online Action RPG Boxes; open(ish) world, multiplayer, crafting, etc., though I like the chunky, cartoonish art style.

But the main reason I wanted to talk about it at all is this: the main town in the game, last bastion of humanity in the frontier, lone light in the darkness… is called Ramsgate, and that's hilarious.

This looks nice, but for me (some of the harder monsters look cool but it's so derivative of Monster Hunter I dunno what it actually offers that Monster Hunter World doesn't? Not to start a war or anything.

EDIT - I should point out by derivative I mean in the best possible way I guess, I don't think this game is Chinese Bootleg MH or anything. Oh, also I guess this isn't PUBG type shit where no one can do a same type of game ever, but MH arguably has that shit on lockdown.
