It's starting to feel like we don't need a separate thread for each month, as each one consists of a few people saying "shit month this time around" then losing interest…

Anyway, next month's offerings are Overcooked and What Remains of Edith Finch.

Overcooked is great. Edith Finch, I've heard nothing but good things about, and my mouse has hovered over the buy button a few times.

It's a decent showing, though the drop to only 2 games still makes it feel kinda anticlimactic.

Also nothing that's unique to PS+ as a giveaway. Overcooked was on Games with Gold a couple of months ago, and Edith Finch was given away on the Epic Games Store recently and is on Xbox Game Pass.

Obviously most of the PS+ playerbase won't have access to every games machine under the sun but it's another reason why this feels a bit underwhelming, despite being two decent games for once.

Edith Finch is a great experience, but as with all these types of games, quite short and zero replay value.
Though there are one or two absolutely magical moments, which make you feel like a kid.

Both great, both already in my possession. So, for me, ugh.

What I thought was shit this time was the email that went round revealing the games. It proudly boasted that I'd unlocked £22 worth of free games. My reaction? Sadly, it was 'Is that it, £22?'. Before, the +£50 boast made sense but boasting about just over £20 seems… well, shit. And it undermines what are definitely two good games. I think whoever writes their marketing needs a new approach.

I don't get 'lack of replay value' as a criticism. In my entire adult life I've replayed maybe two games.

But yes I agree it's a wonderful experience.

Same - I've only played a handful of narrative games more than once, and rarely to completion. Grim Fandango is the only one that leaps immediately to mind.
