Weird shit on the Switch no-one’s ever heard of

As per Gar's suggestion.

Pode is lovely two-player platform puzzle action.

I really like Wandersong, it's a feel-good adventure game.

Bomb Chicken is challenging and funny.

Deemo is a nice rhythm action game with loads of songs AND is compatible with the Labo piano, amazingly.

VOEZ is also a good rhythm action game.

The End Is Nigh is Super Meat Boy levels of difficulty, but it isn't impossible and I really, really like it.

Can't go wrong with Golf Story, it's the Mario Golf GBC sequel we never got.

Other decent stuff on my Switch (though not exclusively, they're on other platforms too): Crawl and Battle Chef Brigade.

I guess Yono and the Celestial Elephants is nice too, but I found the story too aloof for what appears to be a simple isometric adventure game.

Feel free to add stuff here as/when people find things they can recommend.

Wandersong is coming soon, Battle Chef Brigade and Crawl are already out. I think The End Is Nigh is coming onto it at some point as well.

Addition to the list: Thumper. Also on PS4. Fuck me, what a great and hugely unappreciated game.

Oh, Thumper is bloody marvellous. Especially in VR.

Is anybody else looking forward to WarGroove? It might be the first Switch game I've ever preordered.

I'm going to chuck in a mensh for Astro Bears. Which is absolutely terrible but has brought us a good few hours of entertainment. Think Tron lightcycles crossed with Superstardust HD. But worse than both. With bears.

That said, it's getting pretty comprehensive coverage - has done in the past, is getting mostly glowing reviews from major sites right now. Most likely because it's Advance Wars, and everyone seems to want a new Advance Wars (except Nintendo, it would appear).

Yeah looks great that. I much preferred the Advance Wars style to Fire Emblem, but this at least makes up for that with inclusion of dogs.
