My friend has just got himself a PS4 Pro - but with 300 miles between us - I’m looking for some online co-op puzzling. Something along the lines of a Tomb Raider style puzzle - but definitely not a shooter.
Any suggestions?

First thing that leaps to mind is Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris - an isometric, up-to-four-player puzzle action game that relies a lot on both players working in sync to solve puzzles. It has a fair bit of shooting, but it's very arcade-y, and I enjoyed it a lot.
Overcooked! 2 isn't quite a puzzle game - it's much more hectic than that - but to get the better scores, there's definitely a tactical element. The first game is arguably a purer experience, but doesn't support online play.
Don't Starve Together is a kind of Tim Burton's Minecraft; not really a puzzle game, either, but a sketchy, gothic survival game that supports up to six(?) players in a single world; it's brutally hard, until you start to learn your way around, and then becomes just kind of brutal, as the random elements of the procedurally-generated world start to conspire to kick your ass six ways from Sunday.
The Lara Croft is a good suggestion. And I’ve played earlier versions of Don’t Starve.
Someone else suggested Get Out - a prison break style game.
Don't forget that Share Play is a thing. Yes, it's reliant on a decent internet connection and you have to start a new session every hour, but it's still good for games that are a bit more laid back or can be broken down into small chunks.
(When you start a Share Play session, they can only watch; you have to then 'give' them a controller, which is a bit odd the first time you do it. Makes sense eventually though)
Pode fits that bill perfectly. I think you'd love that.
