Gravitar what now

Yeah, I don't get the whole Gravitar thing for having an avatar at all. If someone wants to please explain it to me in plain English, that'd be appreciated… the website is totally developer stuff I don't have time to learn. :(

Go to Gravatar, click the sign in button at the top and either log in or register (with a Wordpress account); once you're logged in there's an option to add an email address, and once you've clicked the confirmation link they send you, to verify that you own that address, you're able to upload an avatar image and assign it to an email.

I agree that it's not the user-friendliest way to handle these things, and their UI leaves a lot to be desired (especially given how their while selling point is ease of use), but adding image uploads here would be much more complicated (and expensive) than it sounds.
