I'm surprised theres been nothing on this on here, I think its exactly the sort of game I'd expect there to be talk of.
I've been playing it off and on all week, and, well, its an odd one. As I said in the September PWB thread, it reminds me so much of the School/Island Life segments of Danganronpa. There's an eccentric cast of characters and there's been a (mass) murder, its up to you, as Lady Love Dies, to explore the 24th Island to figure figure out whodunnit.
What follows is you walking around in first-person view, exploring an entire island to find clues (and a whole load of collectables), talking to the entire cast of the game and trying to piece it all together.
Its pretty absorbing, though its far from perfect. It has that Suda51 kind of style of being purposely obtuse in its mechanics and making life harder for the player than it needs to be, this is most evident in the island itself, which is fucking hard to navigate. The map is unreadable and the only way to get around is on foot, you can pull up icons that tell you how far away each suspect is, but its difficult to find your way to them. I've played about 8 hours and not even spoken to everyone once. There is a fast travel system, but you have to find all telephones (which are also save points as it doesn't autosave) to make use of it, and even then you need Blood Crystals (the games currency) to then use said fast travel system (which is run by one of the suspects I might add)
