This season pass is going to be much harder than the last. Essentially it's the same difficulty to move from 10 - 11 today as it was to move from 40 - 41 yesterday. We don't get the easy 20 or 30 levels at the beginning where we're playing against bots.
Thinking more on that Black Panther card. If there's an easy way to duplicate it, or buff it prior to play, you could set up some fairly insane combos with that thing. I'm sure we'll all see them used against us fairly shortly.
I think maybe I need to get less precious about Retreating.
Always run away if you can't win! There's no shame in it… they wouldn't have put the option in otherwise. No point taking a big loss if it can be avoided, you don't have to think about the feelings of the other player.
Yeah. Mart is right. See it like a game of poker. The snap system is more than a "I quit" mechanic to save time. It's part of the game in a way. I was on 60plus rank points and people are definitely harder to get 4-8 cubes off. Saying that that it's possible (although I wouldn't recommend it) to bluff the opponent if they aren't confident to finish the game for a total of 8 cubes. Sometimes a great fold is the best and right play.
I've put together an "annoy the opponent" deck mostly for a laugh, but it's actually been doing extremely well.
- Elektra and Killmonger to wreck small early-game cards that might have been buffed,
- Scorpion, Korg and Yondu to mess with the opponent's hand and deck,
- Scarlet Witch, Enchantress and Cosmo to mess with locations,
- Sandman to slow them down in the final turns, and
- Hobgoblin, just to be mean.
It's finished off with Morph and Odin because I don't have anything else that really fits with the theme - though I just got Shang-Chi, so maybe he'd be a good fit.
Ooooh… tempted to mess with that mix. Very tempted.
We all know how to share decks directly, right? Just copy/paste into the game, like this:
- (1) Nightcrawler
- (2) Bucky Barnes
- (2) Carnage
- (2) Kraven
- (2) Wolverine
- (3) Morph
- (3) Mister Fantastic
- (3) Killmonger
- (4) Jessica Jones
- (4) Miles Morales
- (5) Klaw
- (5) Gamora

I think you just need to copy the gibberish at the bottom…
EDIT: Confirmed!
Ah, nice. I'll give that deck a good go tonight. I'm not worrying about points for a bit. Just gonna have some fun with new decks.
One of the unexpected outcomes for this Annoy Opponent deck is how often people will Snap early on, and then panic-Retreat as things get weird by rounds 4 or 5.
Here you go:

aniki, you evil genius. I've knocked up a quick version of that concept which includes all the most annoying cards I own and I've had four people retreat in a row.
Lost my first match with it, BUT that's because I got screwed by a location combo of Central Park playing squirrels everywhere, then the final reveal only allowing me to play one card in a location… which was already a squirrel. Hmmm.
I can definitely see how it works and annoys though. The opponent was using discard cards to build up his Apocalypse and when he played it on the final turn, I smashed it with Shang-Chi. Nice.
I have made one swap, as I just unlocked Lockjaw which, when played, can be swapped with ANY card in my deck (not just my hand!) for only 3-cost. Should be useful! In hindsight, maybe that synergises well with The Collector who gains power when you pull cards from anywhere except your hand…
I tried to build a Collector hand early on but it relies so much on getting him out first that it failed to fire more often than not. When it did, it was very successful, but I didn't stick with it for very long.
I was totally wrong… the description of Lockjaw says that it swaps with a card from your deck, but:
a) it swaps FUTURE cards played to the same location, not Lockjaw itself,
b) the swap is random, you don't get to choose, and
c) it picks a card from YOUR ENTIRE COLLECTION, not just your live deck.
I lucked out and it changed Shang-Chi into Hulk, so I still won. But I can see that going spectacularly wrong in other cases… in the bin it goes!
I'm supposed to be working, but your deck is a disgusting monster aniki. What did you do?!

This is a really good deck. Was playing with it for a few hours last night. I've not made anything to do with destroying cards yet, so I had a blast. I made a few changes this morning to help increase the destroy and increase location points cards this deck has.
- (1) Squirrel Girl -1 cost card that help carnage and benefits from Nova with a plus 3 alone. Just be careful with killmonger.
- (1) Nova -really strong card to have with a destroy deck. Can win you the game in all honesty. Even if you don't get to destroy it. It's only a cost 1 card with 2 power.
- (2) Bucky Barnes
- (2) Carnage
- (2) Wolverine
- (3) Morph -Sabertooth works well here too. (I kinda wish Wolverine and Sabertooth get a little buff)
- (3) Mister Fantastic
- (3) Killmonger
- (3) Deathlok -Just another card to destroy Nova, Bucky and wolverine or even Sabertooth.
- (5) Klaw
- (6) Onslaught- 6 cost card, but up to 17 points value in one turn without really doing too much setup when buffing Mister Fantastic plus 2 on each side, Klaw plus 6 to the right side and being a decent 7 power himself. Kinda hard to deal with having 16 points to the location to the right without even having a card there.
- (6) America Chavez - This card is so underrated. The card itself isn't the best, but you always have the intention to not play her. She really fins out the deck just by having the effect always being drawn on the last turn. A lot of my deck play Chavez it's like playing with a 11 card deck. Plus having a 9 power isn't the worst thing.

Mod note: I am normally loathe to edit other people's posts because that's icky, but I've gone through and replaced the hashes from decklists here to prevent them rendering as top-level header tags.
In future, if you're pasting a deck here, please try to remember to swap out the # for a * at the start of each line - that'll show up as a simple unordered list, which is much friendlier (especially to your fellow Society members on mobile).

Yeah, didn't think about that. My bad guys.
I’m in pool 1, so this is probably quite basic, but I haven’t lost a match yet with a deck of 1s.
Basically fill the board with 1-value cards, plus a Captain America for doubling, then at the end pop Blue Marvel and Karnak or whatever he’s called. It’s fun to use because there’s zero downtime (all your cards cost 1 so you’ve always got something to do), tends to work well with a lot of the locations, and surprises Pool 1 folk at the end when everything gets stronger.
I hate to break it to you but there's a pool 2 card called Killmonger that destroys every cost-1 card on the board.
Man, Hobgoblin on Shuri's Lab will fuck someone's day right up.
Just did that twice. Ooooof.
One of my current missions is 'Make an opponent retreat', but no-one will even when I snap before even playing the first card! Why aren't people cowards?
Got my first Pool 3 card this morning - Juggernaut (randomly move any cards that the opponent played in this location this turn). As long as your opponent's not playing a Vulture/Multiple Man strategy, that fits right into the aniki evil genius deck.
Man, Hobgoblin on Shuri's Lab will fuck someone's day right up.
Better hope they're not playing Odin, though. 😬
I'm so light on credits that progress up the Collection Level track has ground to a halt for me.
I did pick up the Season Pass today, though; there's no doubt I've had £8.99's worth of enjoyment out of this, and I had enough Google Play credit to take the sting out of the price.

I’ve just played against Killmonger for the first time, I was using my 1-power deck, and somehow still won.
Came up against someone earlier running this absolute horseshit.
I'm not entirely clear on the mechanics of it - I still won, even though she could have moved, so maybe it looks at the state of the board at the start of the last turn? The wording is kinda vague.
What pool is that in? Me and ol’ moon dino are so out of date.
I think it literally evaluates the board after the last turn is played, then the card moves to a different place IF it means the other player would win. If you still won, I guess that wasn't possible.
That's a Pool 3 card fo' sho'. Got a new one myself yesterday, Ultron… a turn 6 card since it's cost-6, but with scope for tomfoolery as it adds drones to other places. That said, I prefer Doctor Doom and Mysterio for the same effect (neither of which I have but very much want).
Man, Hobgoblin on Shuri's Lab will fuck someone's day right up.
Dropped one on a Bar Sinister earlier. Great stuff.
I'm still swinging between my two decks (one named 'DESTROY' and the other called 'Annoyance!'), having success with both for the most part but with some losses scattered in. It depends what missions are happening, since playing 5-6 cost cards ain't happening much in the latter deck… same with winning with more than 20 power in one location.
Hovering at the 20-21 mark for ranking, I very much doubt I'll make it to where I was last time. Would like to try some more decks, just need the motivation to build them.
I saw a thing in the patch notes talking about titles being available on the collection track, but I've not seen anything there. Anyone had any experience with those yet?
Got Hela yesterday: 6/6, play all cards you discarded from your hand to random locations.
Seems like a very powerful card if you can build the right deck around it. I haven't got anything that would suit at the moment but definitely going to try and see what I can come up with.
Still persevering with a variation on the aniki deck. It's still remarkably successful - no-one really knows how to counter it - but every victory is won by only a couple of points so I rarely feel confident snapping. As a result, progress is slow. I might need to swap it out for something more flamboyant for a bit.
No sign of titles for me yet either - I'm at Collection 530, but even scrolling up the track there's nothing mentioning them.
My rank has gotten as high as 26, but a couple of narrow losses in games with a Snap have knocked me back down to 24. It definitely seems tougher this season; maybe it's because players have started to figure it out, or maybe I'm just at my matchmaking level limit.
Still having a lot of fun though, and I've never felt cheated by a result (a robust retreat strategy and not having encountered any broken deck/location synergies).
Discard from your hand is a weird mechanic, because you can't choose what goes; I've seen as many people use Sword Master and Lady Sif to make Apocalypse more powerful as I have seen them throw away something really useful. Hela sounds like a monster though, if she can basically resurrect them… and then add the Collector into that and it's just downright mean.
(Collector seems to work well with Sentinel too, since it spawns new versions of itself, and maybe Angel too?).
Deck making wheels are turning…
This is my reasonably reliable "no weird tricks" deck, which mostly just gets trotted out for mission completion.
- (1) Quicksilver
- (1) Uatu the Watcher

- (3) Hulkbuster

I don't want to buy the season pass. But I'm already up to level 10 and have missed out on a bunch of things. Gah. It's going to make me break by the time I get to 50, isn't it?
Black Panther isn't an essential part of the deck, but it's surprisingly versatile.
No sign of titles for me yet either - I'm at Collection 530, but even scrolling up the track there's nothing mentioning them.
Had a re-read of the patch notes, and titles come in Collector's Reserve reward packs, which don't appear until you're at Collection Level 1006 and above.
So we might not be seeing them for a while, unless someone feels like getting their whale on…

It's tempting, but no. I've been saving gold up to use for Variant purchases, rather than buying credits with it, but nothing I like has come up yet. I really want Saxophone Morph…
I'm CL 620, so… maybe in a few months?
I've had a horrendous string of losses the last couple days. Still winning enough to keep my rank in the 30s, but it's pretty demoralising. Some of them have been due to my own stupidity (like not realising it's the final turn and playing like we're still on turn 3), but often I'm just being outplayed.
Hay aniki. Do you mind posting your deck? Do you think the people you're playing against are pool 2 with a mix of one or two pool 3 cards?
I'm stuck in a bit of a rut in early Pool 2. Not a losing rut, but I only have one effective deck (moon Dino). Getting a bit boring playing the same deck over and over again, and the card unlocks have slowed right down.
I know this is fully due to my own creativity, but I can't seem to find any fun card synergies in that deck one, early deck two pool.
Move decks, destroy decks, on reveal, ongoing… None of them seem complete to me.
I'm also stuck - not for progress, since I'm still upgrading cards, but just on the rank track. I got up, I go down, I win as many as I lose, and I sit in the mid-30s. Huh. Granted, when I win I'm definitely outplaying the opponent and it's very gratifying, especially when that win comes on the final turn. But equally, I've lost some nailbiters and only had to retreat a few times.
Still having fun… that's the main thing, right?
Y'know, this worked out surprisingly well!
+4 to every card in my deck?? Yes please!
Unfortunately, the coward ran on the final turn.
Built a discard/destroy deck based around Hela, realised everything in it was working except Hela, switched her out for Gambit and now I'm on a winning streak again.
