Has anyone taken a look at the Tilt 5 Holographic Gaming System? It's an AR game board for playing basically whatever they can convince people to code in to it. So potentially D&D, X Wing, whatever the latest boardgame craze is. It could even work for Warhammer.
The videos certainly make it look good. The glasses look like Hammer Tech and I worry about their battery life but unlike 3D TV there's actually a reason to put up with these. Also you can play remote too, which might be handy for the foreseeable future.
Anyway, like a new console it all comes down to the games. If all they have is Pandemic and Carcassonne and a D&D knock-off no one will care. If it has the right games though, at $500-$1000 it's cheaper than either a sizeable boardgame collection or enough Dwarven Forge to run Curse of Strahd.
Anyway, have a look, tell me what you think.
