This might not have enough interest for its own topic, but let's see.
I'd never played the Wii U original, so this is an absolute joy. At their best 2D Mario games are essentially perfect, but even at their naffest they're still better than most. So this ever-growing collection of unlimited levels just feels like the best, most generous toy-box imaginable. I haven't had a go at creating anything yet, but even the tutorials are a lot of fun.
The 'standard' search function is very useful, as it gets rid of the novelty stuff and just displays 'normal', Nintendo-esque levels starting with the most popular. Even now, a few days in, the flow of these user-created levels is surprisingly good. I honestly don't think I'd be able to tell, if tested, which were Nintendo-created and which weren't.
Any recommendations for levels? I had a lot of fun beating this 'hard' (it can't have been too hard because I beat it) level, which gives you exactly 30 seconds to reach the end: HD5-D84-FTG
Did no-one end up picking this up?
You can create maps now, which basically gives you the ability to make full-blown games.
This one is excellent, if you want some curation:

Thanks! I'll have a look.
I enjoyed MM2 and made a few levels but I'll be honest, I forgot all about it. It wasn't helped by the fact that most of the created levels are non-interactive or death trap speed runs. I just want some nice Mario fun.
You'll enjoy the map I posted then. I'm only on the second world so far but it could have been lifted straight from SMB.
My boy's been playing this way more than he should during lockdown (I blame the school for not setting enough homework). He's made a fair few levels and they look pretty impressive to my eyes. However he's mostly using it mostly as a source of infinite numbers of Mario levels - that's fine, but his tastes run towards the kind of ultra-difficult Kaizo levels that give me a nosebleed just watching them. People have really come up with some creative stuff though, I have to admit.
Also, does anyone know anything about Levelhead? It's out today on virtually everything and looks like a straight rip-off of Mario Maker.
EDIT - ah, it's on GamePass - got to be worth checking out at least.
