E3 cancelled (2020)

Happening today, apparently. Wow. Anyone think that's a bad thing? I don't.

I think the lack of reaction here says everything. It's always a lot of fun, but pretty irrelevant now in the Nintendo Direct era.

Yep, I quite like a few days of excitement as everyone reveals All The Things, but there's absolutely no need to try and break the body odour world record each year by doing it in person.

It's such a 90s thing to do too, with technology how it is now there's not really any need to have a mass gathering in a convention centre to show off a bunch of trailers, likewise they could just stick demos up on the various platforms rather than suck up to the gaming press/influencers

Dropping a demo for the great unwashed public doesn't let them control the messaging or manage expectations the same way, though.
