IOI are doing Bond.

I can't imagine it'll play much like Hitman, or have anything approaching a similar sandbox structure, but I'm still very curious to see more.

It's the perfect match of licence and developer - if anyone can do this justice, it's IOI. Very exciting news.

I'd love to see them take a real crack at Bond as a spy, rather than the usual videogame approach as a mass-murderer of nondescript henchmen. While it's definitely got to be a different beast than Hitman, if they hold on to some of the social stealth and infiltration aspects - and the more gadget-y unlockables - this could be amazing.

Also, I can't help but wonder - are they going to use one of the existing Bonds? Given that Craig is retiring (allegedly), I wouldn't imagine they'd use his likeness. Are we going to see a new, game-specific Bond? And if so, is he just going to be the most generic-looking "handsome" motherfucker ever crafted?

EDIT: according to the official website, it's an origin story, so generic/handsome it presumably is!

He's got to at least have a cameo, surely.

Making him canonically the first James Bond would be a masterstroke.
