This seems like the a deal I don't want to miss out on. All of Hellboy for £15.

So, Chainsaw Man finished the other week. Its first part, the "Public Safety Arc", was always going to be a tough act to follow (and is still something I'd highly recommend), but it definitely feels like Fujimoto fell out of love with his work by the end. The High School Arc started off extremely strong, but it got very flabby and was running on fumes at the finish line; the final couple of chapters were a pretty blunt admission that he wasn't enjoying it anymore.
My timeline on Twitter is basically full of ending edits and 'themes and such' jabs for it at this point, I may have dropped off with the anime, which was pretty good, but I intend to read the first half of the manga eventually and mostly because
Spoiler - click to show Makima looks like one of the best villains of the last few years, not sure I'd bother with Part 2 though.
I do need to reread the second part in it's entirety; I suspect some of my problems are a result of reading it week to week rather than as a whole (which is how I read part one, shortly after it finished). It doesn't feel as tightly wrapped as part one, though, and there was some stuff set up that never paid off.
Also, you've got a pretty major spoiler in your post there, Al. 😅
Spoiler - click to showMakima is always a bit weird, but it's a good bit into the story before she's revealed as an outright antagonist.
Oops yeah, sorry, I am just years in to that side of the story being like, part of The Culture at this point, might be too late but I've tagged it now. Looking forward to reading it (assuming the tension in Shuukura doesn't kill me first) even if I know a lot of what happens.
