I've been in a pretty bad slump today too, but I've never been higher than 51. Just about managed to claw my way back to 49.

Rather than going the Apocalypse powerup route, I've included as many "does things when destroyed" cards as I've got. Professor X is basically just there to be annoying, but I might swap him out for Colossus instead. I threw Lockjaw in as filler, but he's not had much play yet - Angel might be a better pull.

Can you disable emojis in this? The Ms Marvel "thumbs up" emoji makes me want to throw my phone across the room. Always used by the smuggest, most hateful twats in the game.

I use it quite a lot because it's a generally-positive sentiment and available without having to scroll.

I've never seen it used positively, ever, only when the opposing player has just made an obviously winning move or had some absurd luck. It's the smuggest emoji.

I exclusively use it to be a dick.

The Deadpool one gets a lot of use from me when an opponent does a particularly good play or I realise I've messed something up.

Finished the season missions this morning, hit Season level 76, broke into Collection 1000, and made it back to rank 53. Unlikely to see 60 before the reset, at this rate - I'm losing as many as I'm winning.

Still setting around 75 on ranked. It's getting really hard now. Hoping I can hit 80 before end of the season but we'll see.

Spent all my tokens on She Hulk. Don't think she's super strong or anything but I really like the character and trying to make a fun deck around her. I've got to say. I love the token shop, but I don't feel like I'll be able to afford another card for like a year from now. 😅 Seems way too slow.

Looks like I'm finishing the season down eight levels from my best, so 50 all told. Bit shit, to be honest, but hey ho. Bring on the new season… tomorrow? Tuesday?

How do you get them?

Once you're higher than Collection Level 1006, you get Collector's Reserve packs (orange instead of blue), which have a chance to contain titles.

I did it! I hit 80 ranked with my new She Hulk deck. Just before the end of the season too. It's wired because I'm not sure that deck is that strong to be honest.

I've had decks that seem like absolute powerhouses, but routinely underperform with particular combinations of locations. Inevitably that's when someone drops a last-round bastard combo that pips me to a Snapped match by a couple of points.

New season's out! I don't know why I was expecting some kind of technical hiccup or downtime, but it seems to have rolled out smoothly.

I spent all my accrued Google Play credit on the season pass, and I'm a little underwhelmed by Silver Surfer – though that's largely my own fault for not spotting that his ability is On Reveal rather than Ongoing, so he got deployed far too early in my deck's first outing.

Reading the season notes, and some of these new locations sound horrendous.

• Lamentis-1: Draw 3 cards. Destroy both decks.

I was a bit underwhelmed by the Silver Surfer initially but I'm now thinking he'd be a good fit for a Mister Negative / Cerebro deck and there are probably a few other specific uses for him too. I'll need to think on that some more.

Disappointed there are no Collector Tokens in the Season Pass though, I guess the idea is that you use the credits and gold to upgrade your cards and get them that way but I think a few specific token rewards would have tipped me into getting the pass straight away.

Location bullshit is the worst thing about this game.

Yeah, could work well with Bucky, Sabertooth, Nova, Deadpool, and potentially Wolverine.

I think Silver Surfer is pretty decent, I just don't like cost 3 cards that much. They can be tricky to use at times. Like you can't play them until turn 3 of course. If you play them on turn 4 you need a cost 1 to go with it or you lose value, and if you play them turn 5 and 6 that's when you normally get ready for big end game plays with cost 5 and 6 cards. This could all be in my head though. 😂

Yeah, the first two turns are pretty frustrating with that deck – there are one- and two-cost cards in there, but the odds of getting them out early is pretty low, but replacing them with Quicksilver and Domino for consistent openings also limits the odds of getting the pieces needed for a big Silver Surfer finish.

I'm coming around on this Silver Surfer card. My all-3-cost deck is doing extremely well at my current rank, and often pulls a last-turn victory out of the bag despite the opponent's two-round head start.

I'm sure it'll start to fall apart once I'm facing off against higher ranks, but for now it's doing me proud.

My son got Miles Morales (the first season's card) in a random drop today, which surprised us all.

I haven't played once since the new season. Granted, I've been moving house and otherwise busy, but NecroMerger has taken all my attention on mobile. I need to get back to the Snap.

I've fallen off the Snap wagon hard and barely played this season. The further I fall behind, the less likely I am to return. Need to up my game, but I've just not had the time.

Four big hitters at the end there. Aim is to use Zero/Cosmo to offset the negative effects of Mary, Red Skull or Destroyer, then Taskmaster to duplicate any one of them if you can. Armor also works to protect from Destroyer if you've got your big hitters in a separate lane. You can roll with Typhoid Mary or Red Skull without protection if you need to (Red Skull in particular works well in the final round if the opponent's been neglecting a lane).

Seems to be pretty successful as not many people are playing this strategy and they don't expect the power onslaught at the end. Lots of over-confident snapping early on that they come to regret later.

New season started this week, I've picked up the season pass again because I'm Part Of The Problem, and I've built a Zabu deck that I'm pretty happy with – though as with my Silver Surfer deck it's maybe a little brittle and over-reliant on the keystone card coming out early.

I've not really touched it, bar logging in to get my free credits/rewards. I think having a period of time where I wasn't able to play (generally around when I was busy moving house) knocked it stone dead, which is a shame as I was soooooo dedicated. That said, I go back to work on Monday and the bulk of my playing time was on the tram to/from the office, so I will try to dive back in.

I think after a while you get a deck that “works” and realise that you’re just playing every game in the same way. New cards don’t come frequently enough to encourage experimentation so you stick with what works and eventually get bored. Not sure what they can do about that - maybe it’s just me!

Yeah, this. Since I've reached the orange box level (whatever they're called), I've opened about six or so with only one card. That card? A variant of one I already have, not a new one. Rest of the rewards were tokens, gold and a shit title. Meh.

I'm still very much in the "numbers go up" dopamine stage. I also have enough cards that I find myself experimenting with different, targeted decks to meet the mission requirements rather than sticking with the standards and getting them by attrition.

I've not been playing it, but still watching content. That new Zabu card seems really strong. Definitely the best card in the season pass from what I've seen. Maybe too good? I'll have to play it for myself to know for sure. I'll be playing the game again soon, kinda miss it.

@aniki, how you finding Zabu? He looks really fun to play. I've seen so many different decks around him. Do you think he's worth paying for? 🤔 Been thinking if I should pick him up or not.

I think he's great – four-cost cards have some if the best effects in the game, for the cost. Even if you don't get Zabu out, dropping a Wong/Rescue combo on turns 4 and 5 can be pretty effective (though open to Shang Chi).

I don't know if he'd be with the full price, though. My Google Rewards surveys have been uncharacteristically generous for the last while, so I got the pass for under half price.

😂 Was thinking the same thing. I'll look into it. If it's not too much on top of my Microsoft rewards system I'll see how it goes.

Hopefully the casual matches will be available at the end of this month. Be nice to play a few games with some of you guys. I'm also looking forward to watching some tournaments too. Should be possible now when it goes live

I tried setting it up this morning, but the 'Set up your payment account' part of the process was borked. I'll try again later. But yeah, always up for answering questions if it means moolah… I'm up to £75 worth of Microsoft Rewards points currently, so should have enough for a year of Game Pass at some point.

I won't go into it in this thread but what a hell of a year for game pass too. That would be a insane value if you got enough for the year.
