As good as the Metaphor battle theme is, I think this boss track from Clair Obscur has it beat. Once the synth kicks in around 40 seconds, phwoar.
And a bonus one from FF14. (But not the foresty one everyone always bangs on about.)
The game was obviously garbage, given how long it lasted on sale, but Concord has one of my favourite soundtracks of the last decade.
It's Daniel Pemberton, though, which seems kind of an unfair advantage.

I played one of the Nier games on 360, it did have a good enough soundtrack that this thread reminded me of it too.
