So over on the little Dreamcast site/account I am part of I am currently running a 'Desert Island Discs: Fantasy Draft - basically you take turns picking games for being stranded on an island, but you can't have a game anyone else picks.
So I have decided to start a little thread here with some similar (but easier to manage) shenanigans. So imagine you are being stranded. You can take as many consoles as you like, plus one Arcade cab and one Pinball table (should you wish) However, the twist is you can't take more than two games for each console.
So what games are people choosing? Any consoles you'd just ignore? I wouldn't take a Speccy or C64 but only because I was Amstrad ruling class.
Some it's easy to begin narrowing it down to games I'd be confident I'd take, so these would nearly all be locks
Sega Saturn - Dragon Force, Sega Rally
PC - CM01/02, Company of Heroes 2
Xbox - KOTOR, Halo
PS2 - Tony Hawk 3, GTA San Andreas
GameCube - Super Monkey Ball 2
Switch - Breath of the Wild
N64 - Goldeneye
Amiga 500 - SWOS 96/97
but others I am more less certain what I'd take
Xbox 360 -
Xbox One - Fallout 4, Xcom 2 (odd choice but I have played the console version an obscene amount)
PS1 - Final Fantasy 7 (maybe) is an immediate thought
SNES - Desert Strike perhaps
So lets see peoples lists!
I'll add more later I'm sure but first thoughts:
PS4 - No Man's Sky
Xbox 360 - Borderlands 2, Torchlight
Gamecube - Wind Waker
PSone - Wipeout 3
PSP - Persona 3
DS - Advance Wars Dark Shadows
This is tough, in part because we didn't have many consoles growing up, but also because my memory is fucking awful.
N64: Banjo-Kazooie
Dreamcast: Skies of Arcadia (you snooze you lose, aniki)
GameCube: Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
Xbox: Mass Effect, Dead or Alive 3
PS3: Uncharted 2, inFamous 2
360: Halo Reach, Rock Band 3 (assuming I can take all my songs)
PS4: Hitman 3 (Would anyone here not?), Journey
Arcade: Silent Scope, Sega Rally
Great idea! First thoughts.
Speccy - Head over heels
SNES - Super Mario world, Super Mario kart
PSP - Everybody's golf
PS2 - Dark Chronicle
Vita - Persona 4: golden,
PC - Skyrim, FFXI (or are online-only games cheating?)
PS3 - Arkham City, Dishonored
Right then… in no particular order:
Arcade: WWF Wrestlefest, Sunset Riders
Amiga: Cadaver, Pinball Dreams
SNES: Zelda: Link to the Past, Pop N' Twinbee
PSOne: Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Alundra
Dreamcast: Fire Pro Wrestling D, Samba De Amigo
PSP: Metal Gear Acid, Ridge Racer
GBA: Golden Sun, Zelda: Minish Cap
DS: Metroid Prime Pinball, Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan!
3DS: Rhythm Paradise, Pokémon Picross
N64: Mario Golf 64, Diddy Kong Racing
GameCube: Super Mario Sunshine, F-Zero GX
Xbox: Jet Set Radio Future, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy
Xbox 360: Red Dead Redemption, Sonic Racing All-Stars (or whatever it's called)
PS2: Okami, Guitar Hero
PS3: God of War 3, Batman: Arkham Asylum
PS4: Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA (the complete game with both Colorful and Future Tone packs), Pinball FX3 (assuming I get to keep all my tables)
Wii: Metroid Prime Trilogy, Super Mario Galaxy 2
Wii U: Zelda: Wind Waker, Wonderful 101
Switch: Binding of Isaac, Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Xbox Series X: Sea of Thieves, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2
Blimey.
Several of my choices already taken, so farewell to Persona 3 and 4, and Hitman 3.
Restricting it only to systems I've actually owned then:
Spectrum: Jet Set Willy, Lords of Midnight
Amiga 500: Populous 2, Secret of Monkey Island 2
N64: Majora's Mask, Perfect Dark
PS1: Vagrant Story, Bishi Bashi Special
Dreamcast: Chu Chu Rocket, Space Channel 5 Part 2
PS2: Rez, TimeSplitters
GameCube: Metroid Prime, Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door
Xbox: Project Zero, Morrowind
PS3: Final Fantasy XIII, Singstar
Xbox 360: The Beatles Rock Band, XCOM: Enemy Within
Wii: Super Mario Galaxy, Xenoblade Chronicles
Wii U: Rayman Legends, Mario Kart 8
PS4: Yakuza Zero, Hitman 2
Xbox One: Monster Train, Slay the Spire
Game Boy Colour: Pokemon Silver/Gold, Zelda: Oracle games (either one of each of these)
GBA: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town
DS: Zelda: Spirit Tracks, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
3DS: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate, Fire Emblem: Awakening
PSP: Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness
Vita: Danganronpa, Everybody's Golf
Switch: Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition, Mario & Rabbids Kingdom Battle
PC: Civilization 4, Anno 1800
Mart and I seem to have been writing those posts at the same time - amazingly I think the only overlap is Ouendan for the DS?
FINE I'll swap it out for Zelda: Spirit Tracks then.
Interesting little exercise. It's weird how the handheld platforms kind of blend together in your mind - and how few games of lasting importance they tend to generate. They get a lot of console conversions and underwhelming franchise entries, for sure.

An excellent choice, sir. In hindsight, I might have gone for Phantom Hourglass but I have enough Zelda games in there already.

Googling 'Best XXX games' where XXX is Xbox, PS3 and PS2 brings up a whole lot of games that make me shrug. Just endless bland 'white man with gun goes on adventure' bullshit. Sigh.
Just spotted that big mean bunny nabbed Halo on the original Xbox before I did, so that's been swapped out for Project Zero.
Great idea! First thoughts.
Speccy - Head over heels
SNES - Super Mario world, Super Mario kart
PSP - Everybody's golf
PS2 - Dark Chronicle
Vita - Persona 4: golden,
PC - Skyrim, FFXI (or are online-only games cheating?)
PS3 - Arkham City, Dishonored
A few extras following consideration about the other platforms I have owned:
Megadrive - Revenge of Shinobi
Atari ST - Lemmings, Flood
PS1 - Tomb Raider, Tenchu (Alundra would definitely have been there)
PS2 (addition) - SSX Tricky
GBA - all my picks have gone! Definitely should have bagged FFTA and Minish Cap while they were free…
Xbox 360 - Braid, Deus Ex: Human Resources
Switch - Fez, Xenoblade Chronicles 2
(edited down to two per console, as I got too excited and didn't read the instructions properly…)
I love the way you've all ignored the way bmb actually didn't specify that we'd be using the draft format here, and have started squabbling about which games you get to take.
(I actually mean that, I really do love it. I'm already considering if I can take the same games as someone else on a different format, and might even do a list based on if we were to use the draft format or not. On which note…)
I am suddenly very aware of just how many gaming machines I've owned.

Absolutely not, otherwise I'd have been able to take Hitman 3. And could probably have smuggled a Persona in there too.
No assuming we'd all be on the same island either, so we can't share. Get orf moi laaaaaaaand.
Well Tactics Ogre, Persona 3, Sega Rally, Wind Waker and Danganronpa are all gone.
So, erm,
PS1: Final Fantasy IX
Vita: Velocity Ultra
PS2: Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga
Dreamcast: Phantasy Star Online, Power Stone 2
I'm gonna have to come back now I've got some bankers in 😂
I noticed Gar slipped in the Vita version of Everybody's golf after I bagged the PSP one… 😄
I think I can have all of these. Only realised going back through that Slay the Spire, Fire Emblem Awakening, Binding of Isaac and Arkham Asylum were gone, and SSX Tricky was a big miss for me too.
I also noticed that I couldn't really think of anything I needed to take for the (much) older consoles anymore, and had probably cheated a bit, but took out some 'Collections' at the last minute…
Game Boy Color – Mario Golf, Tetris DX
Dreamcast – Power Stone, Ikaruga
Game Boy Advance – Advance Wars, Advance Wars 2
PS2 – Ico, Shadow of the Colossus
XBOX – Ninja Gaiden Black, Crimson Skies
DS – The World Ends With You, Ghost Trick
Gamecube – REmake, Resident Evil 4
XBOX 360 – Fallout 3, Fallout New Vegas
PS3 – Dead Space, Dead Space 2
3DS –Mario Kart 7, Shovel Knight
PS4 – Bloodborne, Monster Hunter World/Iceborne
iOS – Solitairica, Darkest Dungeon
Switch – Dead Cells, Hades
PS5 – Demon’s Souls, Returnal
Arcade – Point Blank, Ultra Street Fighter II
Pinball – Addams Family, Twilight Zone
It's just occurred to me that the real fun here would be if we were allowed two or three games for each console, but had to try and agree on what they were. There's definitely potential for some consensus among (some of) us, but we have some fairly disparate taste in some stuff too.
iOS – Solitairica
I've just discovered this, it's great! I've bounced off a lot of roguelike card games before (inc Slay the Spire), but this one has really grabbed me. I've got to round 13 using the first deck (more through luck than judgement I suspect) and am starting to get a handle on some combos of spells/items. Lots to learn though. It's very moreish.
You bastards.
I've not done any work for the last hour because I downloaded this. Already paid to unlock it. That's all my free time gone then.
Pinball - if I can’t have Adams Family, I’ll have my Judge Dredd table.
Enjoyed reading through this thread, even if I didn't mean for this to be a draft!
One I don't think I have seen mentioned though.
Gameboy - Tetris
Get there are other versions but I'd defo take that then!

Gameboy - Tetris
That reminds me of one I forgot!
PSVita: Lumines Electronic Symphony
A good shout. I considered Meteos as one of my DS choices. Slightly surprised no one has picked Tetris Effect as one of their PS4 picks.
I've only played 4 games on my PS4 so am limited, Street Fighter 5, The MLB game, Uncharted Collection then Apex legends, so other than blind picks would have to pick from them.
After careful consideration I have swapped out Assassin's Creed 2 on the PS3 and replaced it with Singstar. I am going to spend my time on Bunny Island murdering popular songs, not Italians.
I'll fight you for the Amstrad.
