That Hori pad looks cool. Let us know how you get on with it.
I've had it for a while actually, I wouldn't be without it. It's really comfortable to use and is about the same size in the hands as a regular controller, for the first time I'm actually able to use the Switch for prolonged periods in handheld mode without discomfort.
It looks a bit silly, is a bit cheap and plasticky and doesn't have rumble (if that even bothers you) but on the whole I'm very pleased I've got it.
Cool. I've not actually had any issues with prolonged use of the Switch, but a controller with sticks which last would be nice.
New Pokemon Snap is lovely. Relaxing, cerebral, just a really nice change of pace from every other shooty game. I'm surprised this formula hasn't been copied more to be honest.
There's a wealth of content, which surprised me (considering it's an on-rails 'shooter), and most of it's genuinely fun. The little quests that force you to reassess certain sightings, to look for some new 'a-ha!' moment, are great. And it's technically excellent too, all running at 60fps(ish). It's more of a looker than the mainline games, that's for sure.
Ah, that was my main reservation about it - the original game was really short (it was on the N64, to be fair, but still). There's plenty to do then? I think I might get this for some nostalgic, simple fun.
Not yet you won't.

I'm surprised it took this long for a sequel and they didn't do one for every one or two gens, finding out all the ways to manipulate Pokemon for better photos (Like leading Pikachu on to a Surfboard with Apples or whatever) was super cool especially for a game on rails like MPH said.

Well this all comes with a reservation of course, I haven't reached 'the end' yet and it might abruptly stop in the next hour or so. But I don't think it will.
It's very much still five-minute rides along rails, but you level-up the areas, and the higher your level the more new stuff happens. And there's a night mode for each area that mixes things up.
Then you're also bombarded with requests, such as 'take a picture of Hoot Hoot's other foot' . So you have to work out how to do that, for example.
Not yet you won't.

I really like golf. And plumbers. Btw.
Actually, never mind, Other M was 2D and it was awful.
Breath of the Wild sequel and more Mario Rabbids though!
Other M wasn't 2D, was it? A weird hybrid.
Yeah, 2D gameplay, 3D graphics I think.
A bit of both. It kept switching between them but even in 3D you had to move with the d-pad. It had terrible waggle controls and was one of the most appallingly sexist games ever (Samus couldn’t use her upgrades until a man told her it was OK). Genuinely one of the shittest games Nintendo has ever produced.
The real winner of that conference was clearly Super Monkey Ball.
I really want that Zelda Game&Watch!
Again no reference of what you are talking about, this a direct? What was the Super Monkey Ball news, have they added Golf and Bowling back this time?!
It's a new Direct. Easy enough to find on youtubelol. Monkey Ball looks like the complete MB and MB2.

The fact that you ignored Target shows your true colours, you communist.
That sounds ace, I play those with the little one on the GC. Will check after the footy then, I don't have much knowledge of these things but presume Mart makes and presents these yes? And sings then intro.
Dread looks great, real Metroid Fusion vibes but without that game's structure. Nintendo swept pretty hard, Shin Megami Tensei V looks way better than I had hoped for something most people treated as a myth at this point.

I both write AND sing the intro. I am Nintendo's Dennis Waterman.
You wish, more like their Jimmy Nail
I take that as a huge compliment.
As an official Part Of The Problem™, I am mostly looking forward to the Super Monkey Ball and Advance Wars remakes. AW is purely for me – I put crazy hours into that on the GBA and none of the sequels really captured the same feelign – but I reckon the kid will find Monkey Ball hilarious, right up until he loses the rag. As it should be.
I'm just impressed they're still finding Wii U games to exhume. I'm sure the 3 fans of * checks notes * Project Zero 5 will be delighted.

Being made by the Ryu Ga Gotoku studio, no less, the Yakuza guys. Could be… interesting.
I hope the lubed-up pervs make an appearance.

Ryu Ga Gotoku spun out of Sega's Amusement Vision development team, who made the original Monkey Ball – so this isn't as weird as it seems at first glance.
SMB gets super hard eventually right? I remember levels that had stuff like 3-5 pathways that each got progressively thinner but shorter and the idea was you'd get a faster time braving the thinner paths. The expert runs we're going to see of this with people launching the money balls of the side and stuff will be sick.
SMB gets super hard eventually right?
From about level 7, if you're me.
I was HOPELESS at Super Monkey Ball.
I got through all 10 levels of easy, all 30 levels of medium and then about 7 out of 50 levels of hard. Anything beyond that way utterly beyond me.
If it contains Super Monkey Target, then day one. The rest of SMB is of little consequence.

It does. So yay.
And yes, Al, it gets hard. The guitar string level you mentioned was literally in the trailer…
Ooooh, Day 1 buy I think. The minigames seal the deal too.
EDIT - this was just what Cav said but in a worse way. orz
Very excited about that and some of the others, as it's fathers day (happy fathers day to the rest of the dads here btw) I was graciously allowed to not get up at 6am, so choose to use that time to watch most of the direct as it's now on the Switch dash. Never watched one of them before, I liked it but it does kill me a tad that they keep doing the clicking thing to queue the next video, but there the edit isn't on the click itself but their is like a single pause after?
What sort of monster decided that!?
The over enthusiastic, almost Japanese power rangers TV show 'click' movement gets me every time.
Are there any decent grips for the Lite that will reduce pain? Was playing Monster Hunter last night and my right index finger was beginning to hurt from using the shoulder buttons and the right stick.
Why is it Nintendo have stuck to this basic design for about 15 years? Oh, of course, it's because gamers won't criticize them 😐
I have the satisfye grip, I got mine imported but you can get them off Amazon now and they do both regular and lite versions, plus they usually come with a case that the Switch fits in whilst still in the grip, its frankly amazing and I can't play mine without it even for 5 minutes.
Should I post my Friend code in here?
Well, I am anyway

Thanks, that looks a bit out of my price range for now.
Hey if you hate your hands then that's your choice…
And by that I obviously mean if I see the lite one on sale on Amazon I will post back in here!
Prime day this week (tomorrow/Weds).
Yeah that is what I was thinking, annoying though I really like clear/perspective one they do but that don't list they on Amazon UK, and not importing anything currently as it seems everything gets hit with fees and costs now.
They've somehow managed to bugger up Mario Golf.
Y'know the swing system every other golf game has - the one that makes Everybody's Golf so satisfying? Tap to swing, tap again to set power, tap a final time to set angle? They've done away with it here.
Now you only tap once to set your power, and there's a flag icon on the power bar exactly where you need to tap. There's no skill, no satisfaction, it's just all so bleh.
It's made me want to play Everybody's Golf instead; I think I missed the PS4 version.
The PS4 version of Everybody's Golf is really good, especially if you get all the DLC. We've been playing it recently and it's pretty much perfect in terms of what it does - it'll last you for ages too. Everybody's Golf is low-key the franchise that will tip me into getting a PS5 eventually, I think it's sold me every Sony console since the PSP.
Mario Golf looks to have been, ahem, super rushed: I've seen it described as "the worst game Nintendo has put out in years" which is probably hyperbole but it definitely doesn't look worth getting.
Face it, Ratchet and Clank + Everybody's Golf on PS5 and we're all going to break. Gamepass or not.
Not me. Honestly, given the amount I don't play games already, I can't ever see myself getting a PS5. Outside of them almost impulse purchase price, I guess (sub-€200) and in many, many years. But even then, I can't see it.
I think I've turned a corner on having to own everything. I just don't have the motivation or enthusiasm any more. I mean, I've just sold all my amiibo (82 at last count) and have reached a point where I'm actually playing the majority of things I buy. Old man Mart is old.
